PeopleSoft Inventory Consultant

Location: New York City

Duration: 6 Months+

One of our Direct Clients requires a PeopleSoft Inventory consultant for a
period of approximately six months to implement the PeopleSoft 9.0 Inventory
Module.
Background:

The Client is changing its accounting policies so that locations where
stocks are being held will be treated as inventory locations and the stocks
will be recorded on the balance sheet as an asset and charged to expenditure
as consumed. Inventory consists of purchased goods as the client is not a
manufacturing operation. Client is already using a number of PeopleSoft 9.0
modules including General Ledger, Purchasing, eProcurement, Project Costing,
Grants, Commitment Control, Billing, Accounts Receivable and Accounts
Payable. To accommodate the accounting change and to provide a system for
the organization to effectively manage our inventory, Client  is
implementing the PeopleSoft Inventory module and requires a PeopleSoft
Inventory external consultant to be the key implementer on the project team.
Scope:

·         One Inventory business unit with several storage locations.

·         We expect this to be basically a "PeopleSoft vanilla"
implementation. (Some minor customizations to add additional fields on some
display pages are being considered but these will be done with internal
resources.)

·         Items are already being used for eProcurement and approximately
100 of these need to be designated as Inventory items. Most inventory items
are lot controlled with expiry dates.

·         Workflow approval will be used for Stock Request approval

·         Full landed costs need to be captured; weighted average costing
method used

·         Inventory transactions will be budget checked in Commitment
Control

·         Any reports beyond the ones delivered by PeopleSoft will be
developed in the external reporting environment (COGNOS) by internal
resources.
Tasks:

Individual tasks include:

·         Create a Configuration Specification document based on the
Functional Requirements document.

·         Fully configure the PeopleSoft inventory module including Workflow
approval.

·         Write test plans and scripts

·         Lead system and user testing

·         Configure and test physical count conversion

·         Prepare training materials

·         Conversion of initial physical counts into live system

·         Go live support (5 weeks)
Experience Requirement:

·         Functional expertise and experience in the implementation and use
of the PeopleSoft Inventory, Purchasing and Cost Management module.
Experience using the Inventory module with Commitment Control.

•      Good technical PeopleSoft knowledge.
Timing:

·         As soon as available for an estimated period of six months.
Location:

·         New York City although there are times during the project when
some of tasks may be done remotely.
