*LOCATION: Cary, NC* *F2F required* *H-1b OK but mist have good comm skills* *POSITION DESCRIPTION* The SQL Server Database Administrator will be responsible for providing technical support for the database environment. Primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining production and development Microsoft SQL databases, designing and developing stored procedures, functions, triggers, designing and implementing ETL scripts using a variety of tools, database performance monitoring, and supporting business data requirements. This candidate requires demonstrated experience working with the latest versions of Microsoft SQL Server. Experience working with Oracle and MySQL databases preferred. *ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES* • Independent worker capable of supporting, troubleshooting, and resolving production database issues. • Installing, configuring, and upgrading MSSQL Server. • Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. • Backup and recovery. • Database Encryption. • Creating and maintaining SSIS packages specifically related to data warehousing. • Database reporting using third party tools and/or Microsoft BI. • Working with VMWare virtual environment. *EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS* • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. • 3-5 years of SQL Server Database experience • Experience as a database administrator working with SQL Server 2008 or later. • Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining SSIS packages for Data Warehousing. • Experience with Jitterbit Harmony data integration application a plus. • Database experience with Oracle and MySql highly preferred. • Independent worker capable of evaluating and resolving database issues. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Experience with the installation, configuration, and administration of Microsoft BI solution is a plus. • Experience in the MS SQL Business Intelligence Stack (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS) is a plus. *KEY BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES* In addition to whether a person has the knowledge and experience required to be successful in the job, one must have specific behaviors to perform the job successfully.
