*Required Skills*

Track and analyze system capacity demand trends and develop plans for
accommodating future needs.

Work with business and applications development to identify system capacity
impacts and make recommendations for cost effective system resource
utilization.

Lead capacity management team and other work teams to implement system
resource cost saving measures.

Conduct research and analysis for system incidents to correlate with system
performance and capacity data, and publish findings.

Analyze system performance and capacity data to validate and support plans
and usage projections.

Monitor and analyze performance and capacity data from various computing
platforms.

Research cost saving opportunities related to system performance and
capacity and present written and verbal recommendations.

Configure, operate and administer system performance and capacity software
tools.

Analyze, diagnose and develop conclusions related to system performance and
capacity alerts.



   - Eight years experience as technical analyst in an OS/390 mainframe or
   PC/LAN environment.
   - Working knowledge of at least one J2EE application server such as WLS
   or WAS.
   - Three years capacity planning* *experience with at least two enterprise
   compute platforms, i.e.  Unix (HP/UX, AIX, Solaris, Linux), Mainframe
   (z/OS), Windows, NonStop, AS/400, etc.



   - Understanding and application formal performance analysis* *methods
   such as Operational Analysis, Little's Law, queuing theory.
   - Working knowledge of at least one capacity modeling tool, i.e. BMC
   Predict, PDQ, TeamQuest, etc.
   - Working knowledge of at least one message oriented middleware product
   such as: Tuxedo, CICS, Pathway.
