*REQUIREMENT DETAILS:*
*Senior Network Engineer*
*North Adams, MA*
*3 months*
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with a solid
consultative skills and a broad background in implementation and support of
various network infrastructure technologies to assist our client with
integrating a recently acquired entity.
*Responsibilities*
- Conduct a thorough discovery and document the voice and data
communications infrastructure, including:
- Data Network Topology
- LAN and WAN Connectivity
- Wireless
- VLAN Architecture and Layer 3 Implementation
- Collect and document relevant hardware models, software levels, module
details, etc. for asset inventory
- Provide input into the design of a planned conversion to OSPF and then
execute it Must include resolution of any IP conflicts and redistribution
plan.
- Assist with the migration to a new metro-ethernet network for a
subsidiary (17 locations). Develop a bill of materials, coordinate ordering
of equipment, configure
routers, ship routers to sites and assist with the cutover.
- Provide on-going day-to-day support of the existing infrastructure.
*Skill Set*
- Advanced Level of Routing and Switching expertise and experience.
- Design and Operational understanding of Spanning Tree and OSPF.
- Experience with Cisco Systems routing and switching platforms.
- Experience implementing and supporting Wide Area Network Solutions.
- Experience implementing and supporting multicast, QOS, wireless, and
VoIP.
- 5 or more years of hands-on experience working in a large enterprise
with exposure to common processes and procedures around services and
support.
- CCNA or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication
skills
- Ability to work independently and drive results under challenging
(acquisition-related) circumstances
