J2EE/Services Tester
Location: Knoxville, TN
*Job Description:*
Role
*J2EE/Services Tester*
Responsibilities:
· Work in a highly collaborative agile Scrum based team
· Produce high quality work
· Demonstrate a strong work ethic at all times
· Communicate effectively and clearly at all times
· Integration testing of web services
· Work closely with team on deployments, automated tests, load
testing, and general troubleshooting as needed to understand shifting
quality concerns
· Review user stories, refine acceptance criteria, and make
suggestions to backlog items and priorities
· Create and manage a high level test plan for all concerns of
quality assurance; integration, load, functional user automation, test cases
· Create and manage test cases
· Manage automation of test cases
· Participate in peer review of code, designs, and tests
· Documentation; test plan, test cases, release notes, etc.
· Help identify risks and propose solutions
Required Skills:
Proven work experience (valued most); Bachelor’s Degree taken into
consideration
· Experience working in all lifecycle phases on a distributed
business application having separate environments for development,
testing, quality assurance and production.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a must
· 1+ years’ experience creating or managing test cases
· 2+ years’ experience in test automation
· 1+ years’ experience in *automated* user testing of web sites or
applications*with Selenium*; only using *Selenium HTML runner does not
count *as it is a user driven tool; Geb or Protractor will work in place of
Selenium as it is an abstraction on top of Selenium
· 1+ years’ experience in testing web sites
· Hands-on experience using Java, J2EE; even if by way of
automating tests for such a project as long as Java was used
· Hands-on experience with some database such as Oracle,
PostgreSQL, MySQL
· Use of a source control tool such as Subversion, Git, or Mercurial
· Multi-tasking
· Excellent problem solving skills with proven
ability to communicate complex ideas
· Ability to work well both in a team and individually
· U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required
Nice to Have Skills
Experience with automated test tools other than JUnit and Selenium such
as Geb, Spock, JBehave, or TestNG
· Experience with jMeter
· Exposure to JavaScript, especially Angular or Node.js
· Experience with Groovy
· Experience with behavior driven development (BDD)
· Experience with test driven development (TDD)
· Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD)
· Experience with Amazon Web Services
· Use of some build tool such as Maven, Gradle, or Ant for
automation and projects
· Hands-on experience with Git
