*Job Title: WLAN Designer* *Duration: 12 Months* *Location: East Peoria, IL* *Summary:* We are looking for an experienced Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Designer to lead and manage a complex technical infrastructure environment applying strict security standards and translating requirements from several business partners and other IT professionals. *Job Responsibilities:* - The individuals seeking these roles will take responsibility of managing the WLAN environment with zero outages and will design, plan and upgrade world class secure WLAN solutions with global or campus scope and scale for integration into clients enterprise IP Network domains. All facets of this role will regularly collaborate with other regional experts and will need excellent communication skills. - The successful candidate will develops concepts and alternative solutions based on issues, customer needs, customer impact, and/or industry trends. Develop business case analysis to justify customer investments in project development and/or system support efforts. Analyze user requests and connectivity requirements for feasibility of design and potential impact while cognizant of time and cost constraints. - Maintain close liaison with customers to assure business needs and perception of value are met. Introduce new technologies and develops standard practices for execution of business processes across functional organizations. Provides project leadership, expert advice, and counsel to IT personnel, management, and project teams on most complex aspects of applications development methods as well as for purchased software solutions to be integrated with other systems. Prioritize, manage, and track team workload progress as required. *Technical Skills:* - An in-depth understanding of both wireless and wired network technology is essential with knowledge of 802.11 (a,b,g) wireless networking, 802.1x, 802.11i, EAP, TTLS, TKIP, Radius, ISE and radio frequency communication principals. - In-depth experience with Cisco controller based WLAN technologies. - Experience with Cisco Prime Infrastructure. - Specific experience in WLAN packet analysis, performance analysis, and design. - Experience with wireless site surveys, network design and implementation. - Documentation expertise Complex problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions. *Skills:* - Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service, leadership, and interpersonal skills. - Manages completion of own work assignments and coordinates work with others. . - Ability to manage diverse team members to build a cohesive team. - Based on past experience and knowledge, work independently with minimal management input and review of end results. - Fully knowledgeable of related infrastructure components and/or operating environment. - Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue. *Education/Experience:* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required. 9-10 years’ experience required.
