* * *Senior Web Designer* Rate: $40/hr Duration: 6 + Location: Chicago, IL *Summary:*** Design and render user interfaces (HTML and graphics) for web sites and Internet applications. Prototype application interfaces using scripting and storyboarding techniques. Apply human interface design techniques. Participate in concept development, image processing, original artwork production, and the design of multimedia components of websites and applications. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Under direct supervision, designs and builds moderately complex web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools. Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special effects elements. With direction from the various marketing groups, creates banner ads and other graphic elements for lead generation. Designs and develops websites that support the organization's strategies and goals as they relate to external communications. Makes recommendations on improvements to existing websites and Internet applications based on documented usability analysis guidelines and proven methodology. *Education*: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and three to four years of experience in the area of web design. A strong background in art or graphic design is also required. A certification in Usability Analysis (CUA) is extremely helpful, but not required. *Qualifications*: To perform this job successfully, candidate must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. - At least 3 years of design experience in a fast-paced environment - Experience developing look and feel for large, high-visibility consumer websites - Experience designing graphics for both print and the web - Strong understanding of functional user-interface design, usability, and accessibility - Expert skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, and CSS.
