[Clamav-users] Version 0.88 is not recognizing known viruses - HELP
Hi, I have version 0.87 installed on a machine and 0.88 installed on another. I also have some sample viruses in a folder. When I execute version 0.87 on those samples it tells me that the files are infected, which is what I expect. Symantec AV also does the same thing. However, using the same sample with version 0.88 tells me the files are OK. I even tried the online virus submission and that too tells me that the files are OK. If my copy of 0.88 was letting the viruses go, I would have assumed a database corruption. But why is the online submission also not recognizing it. Any ideas? RE: [Clamav-users] submiting form
It's always worth submitting samples to http://www.virustotal.com and http://virusscan.jotti.org as well. They forward to the ClamAV team and other antivirus vendors.
