[Clamav-users] accept() failed: d signat

2007-05-23 Thread Duke Nukem
Hi List!

I'am running clamd daemon 0.90.2 (OS: linux-gnu, ARCH: i386, CPU:
i686) on a quad xeon machine with a redhat system.

Since a few hours I get tons of this messages (the machine runs clamd
since about 1 year without problems):

May 23 14:16:47 clamspam clamd[7630]: accept() failed: d signat
May 23 14:16:49 clamspam last message repeated 2 times
May 23 14:16:49 clamspam clamd[7643]: ScanStream 1048: accept() failed.
May 23 14:16:49 clamspam clamd[7630]: accept() failed: d signat
May 23 14:17:15 clamspam clamd[7642]: ScanStream 1093: accept() failed.
May 23 14:17:15 clamspam clamd[7642]: ScanStream 1431: Can't create temporary
file.

There is much enough space on the machine for tmp files and there are tons of
scanned emails that run through in the meantime. So it seems to be a
sporadic error. But in the end the number of errors raise an kills the
daemon.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance!

Duke

 This is what the conf file says:

 What won't be scanned?
 - files larger than this limit inside an archive?
 - Or files inside an archive whose total size is this limit?

 Cheers :)
Tom,

I believe the answer is BOTH. and the archive is larger than this limit.

Re: [Clamav-users] Clamd use up 99.9 % cpu

 Hi list,

 4 days ago me clamd started using 99.9% of me cpu. Without I had made
 any changes on the server.
 I use clamd together with amavis to scan mails for virus, clamd still
 works it catches all virus mails that comes in throw mail.
 But it slowes me server down alot(avaged time for a mail to leave the
 server is now up to 10 to 15 min).

 I have looked in the log files but nothing seems to be wrong, I have set
 clamd to log verbose(but can not se any changes in the log, still only
 gets a line when it finds a virus).
 Is there a way to monitor clamd to see where i hangs or just what it
 is doing?

 Some background, when I restart clamd it starts out find only using
 around 1 to 4% cpu(normal). But after runing for abort 30 min it starts
 using 99.9% cpu and stays there until next restart for clamd.

 The system is amavis, clamd and postfix.

 Hopes this is the right forum for the Q, if not then please let me know.

 Best regards

 Marc

Are u sure u use clamd and not clamscan? Check settings in amavis. u
may set it to use clamscan. If yes, change it to clamd.
