I'm working about 15 years with FreeBSD. The ports tree is one of the
weak points of the operating system. After updating the ports tree and
then compiling clamav, some other libraries were updated too. I have
seen this with my eyes!

No likely. Are you using a utility such as 'portmanager' or
'portupgrade' to upgrade ClamAV? Could you be more specific and list
the libraries that are affected? Better yet, run 'script' when you do an
update and then we can examine it to see what the problem is.

In any case, FreeBSD-5.5 is quite old and I believe no longer
supported, although I might be wrong about that.

Forty isn't old, if you're a tree.

FreeBSD 5.5, the last in the FreeBSD 5.x series, reached EOL in March 2008.

2008-11-16 Thread martinnitram

running clamav 0.94.1 + milter (from source) + sendmail under Fedora 8 x64 OS
everything working fine, but found from clamd.log where clamd startup, it
shown

maxscansize

clamd[15202]: Limits: Recursion level limit set to 16.

at other email servers that running FC3 i386 os, which also using source and
same config. file, the error message System limit for file size is lower
than maxfilesize or maxscansize hadn't shown. Anyone had idea one what does
this message mean?

found maybe related values at clamd.conf, but we hadn't change those values
and all use default.

...
# Default: 1M
#LogFileMaxSize 2M

# Default: 100M
#MaxScanSize 150M
...
# Default: 25M
#MaxFileSize 30M
...
# Default: 16
#MaxRecursion 10
...
# Default: 1
#MaxFiles 15000

Thank helping.
