No, from rpmforge.

Others have already talked about this on the CentOS forums, though the
 general flavour was very hostile.

That's why I don't use forums.

I suspect you just need to upgrade your other packages, particularly
 openssl and openssl-devel.

That will majorly break CentOS.

I have installed it just fine using the source from the ClamAV site. It works

Yes, but that works around package management. Some people (including
me) don't want to do that. And rpmforge is pretty fast with updates to
ClamAV.

I'm not a fan of RPMForge. I tend to stay away from there unless I am
desperate. Mainly because every package that I've went there looking for has
been horribly out of date.

For instance, the last time I went there looking for Syslog-NG, which was,
admittedly back in February, was on version 1.x for RHEL/CentOS instead of the
current 2.x tree. Rather than waiting for someone to build a package, which I
would do if I knew how, I go and grab the source.

It doesn't have to - one can build the product from source and then
create the package. For consistency you would have to accurately
recreate the existing package structure so that you don't end up with a
mixed bag of concurrent versions. Or - remove all vestiges of existing
packages and build to your design.

It does give you some independence from vendors and their
schedules/skills/process management standards for everything, but it
requires you to have and maintain a proper build environment and depot
for creating, packaging, and retaining versions of interest. Unless
you're in a heavily configuration-managed environment this is not the
likely solution for a lot of sites. It is for me, as it happens.

Im surprised that no one mentioned the real easy way to solve all this.
Download the SRC rpm. then rebuild for your specific environment and
install built rpms. quick and easy.

I grab the src rpm from dag or kristof or wherever then do rpmbuild
--rebuild whatever.src.rpm and your all set. Since i dont use milter i
specify -without-milter as well.

This allows you to keep the system updated with rpm without having to
wait for someone to build it for you for your specific arch.

Clamav from source works fine.

I wonder if the rpm build system used is really Centos 4.4/Rhel 4.4
or what the SPEC file says about openssl version
required. There's no libssl.so.5 on Centos/RHEL 4.4

Try DAG RPM's or indeed rebuild de src.rpm
