[CMLHope] Re: 3 new messages in 2 topics - digest

2007-12-26 Thread Mustardny
Thanks Dave for sharing your strength, faith & hope, its exactly what I
needed to hear & you gave it to me for Christmas. I've been on gleevec since
June
2005 & lately the side effects was starting to get to me & a little
depression was setting in, thanks for the kick in the butt & reminding me
that I
have to be grateful to be alive.

[CMLHope] Re: sore hip and sore heel problem

2007-12-26 Thread PFOUNDO
I agree with the response about the support for the feet, it is called
Plantar's Faciitis and is an inflammation of the Plantar tendon that runs the
whole length of the bottom of the foot. Crocs are good, I suppose, but a good
sneaker or any shoe with a good arch support will do. I found with this that
as soon as I got out of bed every morning I just could not walk on my left
foot. After an hour or so it would work itself out and then I could walk OK,
but come next morningsame thing. I bought a pair of New Balance sneakers,
this is almost 20 years ago, and they felt so good when I put them on that I
slept with them on for 3 months. I have had one bout of this pain since then
and it was because I was living in an apartment where I had 25 stairs to get
out and 25 stairs to go down 2 times a day to go to and from work.

[CMLHope] Re: sore hip and sore heel problem

2007-12-26 Thread Tony Lanoue
Hi I can’t help with the hip, however whenever I talk to someone whose
having a heal problem I have to tell them how I cured mine which, by the
way, I don’t believe is CML or Gleevec related. I figured out that it was
walking around the house on the hard floors that was hurting my heal.
Slippers were not helping because they offered no support, so I bought
myself a pair of those crocs (those crazy ugly slip on polyurethane
sandals.) They offer great support and they’re nice and soft. As soon as I
get home and take off my work shoes I slip them on immediately. After a
couple weeks of wearing them around the house I’ve never had a sore heal
again.

Tony

Hi all,

Not me, I love my

Florida Christmas; well, I was born here so that is the reason.

I get to cold in the cold weather.

But, snow is beautiful so let it snow let it snow let it snow hehe.

Enjoy the wonderful season CML warriors.

I developed a sore hip right before Christmas.

It hurts on my left side when I walk and etc.

I still have a sore heel so I think I am getting a bursitis problem.

Anyone else having this problem?

Getting my cbcs today.

Platelets came down so hope they stay down.

Blessing to all.

I see all that snow and I'm so jealous Merry Christmas Tony.

2007-12-26 Thread dgschulz
Ain't Finished Yet:
Beautifully said. You should frame this. I have figured out the mystery of life
and you stated it precisely. I'll have 14 years under my belt next August (7
years on IFN and 7 years on Gleevec). It has been a journey, and I intend on
continuing it. It's all about managing the side-effects and not giving in to
it. Get mad at this thing and kick it in the butt! Keep on truckin' y'all.

2007-12-26 Thread Suzieq

Zavie: Glad it's you & not me...we had our little dab of snow
early last week, missed out on the storm that came through this past
week as it stayed slightly north of us. Alright by me...I don't
mind the snow if it comes and then goes. I hate it staying around for
days and days.plus, it's hard on our cattle & their babies. So
you just enjoy what you have and keep it up there! (smile)

God Bless you all &
Everyone have a very Happy New Year, too!

Love, Suzieq

[CMLHope] Re: broken rib

2007-12-26 Thread Trey

Gleevec can interfere with bone strength, especially those taking
higher doses. It is probably a mixture of already having a problem
with osteoporosis and Gleevec making the problem worse.
