Re: Stus-List Treating Monel water tanks

2017-07-04 Thread Russ & Melody via CnC-List

Hi Joel,

Why are you looking for a chlorine alternative?

It is probably your best choice to treat monel
tanks. Monel is spec'd in many chlorine handling
applications because of its excellent corrosion resistance.

It is an excellent oxidizer, will kill
undesirable microbes and is unstable enough to be
non-reactive in a relatively short time. Apply to
the tank a week or more before you're going away. Golden.

I always had problems with water going bad over
time (we don’t use too much of it). This thing
keeps it fresh longer (a month? 6 weeks?).

Interestingly, I could not find it anywhere else

Re: Stus-List 33-2 music and speakers

2017-07-04 Thread Dave S via CnC-List
Checked today, and the speakers are Teac Ls-8x and are working fine,
surrounds appear ok.

They seem very well made but were mounted horizontally, and aimed in
such a way that the listener is well off-axis. Also, they are
probably not very efficient and have an 8ohm nominal impedance, so
driving them with the anemic Pioneer stereo (50 BS watts per channel @
4 ohms, means not many watts RMS @ 8 ohms... to Sylvain and Leslie's
point.) I think they need more power via an external amp. Will need
to make that switchable to save battery when Windstar is off the
grid...

Interesting that so many have cockpit speakers. Was going to get a
little rechargeable Bluetooth thing for that, can't bear to cut holes,
and the 33's cockpit is pretty cramped as it is.

Not a very "C&C" post, but it is nice to be fussing with little stuff
like this vs major repairs and upgrades.

Thanks all for the input.

Dave
