Wow…do I feel the incompetent “Googler”

That is awesome. Thank you Dennis.

Perhaps we all should consider a tool lend program. I got. You need? I ship.
You return or promise to pass along. Too many esoteric tools sitting about
on a redundant basis.

I've been told it should work fine, but haven't actually tried it yet.
Apparently some mains can have a "shelf" designed into them which may need
to be taken out for loose footing, but it can't hurt to try it.

Stus-List diver frustration

2020-11-27 Thread Della Barba, Joe via CnC-List
I guess I should have known, but the local diving company shut down for the
winter. I haven’t been able to do much sailing lately for various reasons and
now my prop is fouled. Normally I would have realized this a month ago ☹
I think the water now is in the 50s, not looking forward to the cleaning job.
Maybe at least the jellyfish are gone, I don’t think they like the cold. I
guess I should have sympathy for people with 50 something water in the summer!

I’ll second boatleather.com. Great winter project. I went with the light
leather and the pad option. Feels great under hand...

I used my bicycle stand to mount the wheel which made stitching easier.

I ordered a DIY kit from boatleather.com and was very pleased with the quality.
I also ripped out one of the holes in my quest to get it on tightly and they
sent a whole new cover without charging me, so I can also say they stand behind
their product. It is a decent sized winter project as indicated before, but
the kind of thing you can easily pick up and put down. I am going on season 7
with mine with no visible wear or other issues.

David, three boats ago, I ditched the wheel that came with the boat and
purchased a 40 inch Lewmar folding wheel; I absolutely love it! I have moved up
through three different boats, (a C 29, 33 and current boat-37); it has a
leather cover that you don't have to do anything with and you will be able to
walk around the helm station without twisting and contorting your body! An
added plus...Christmas is coming...maybe drop a hint to Mrs. Claus...?
