Well, there isn't any rich text in the content that got to gmail. The
following starts after cc: line after the headers.
All three of the messages arrived as plain text only.

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format="flowed"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

If you want I can copy the entire email in it's original form into a txt

OK, t's done. You should see a payment from PayPal for $63 USD. The extra $20
is what I had intended to send last Fall during your fundraiser.
I didn't think to ask if you wanted loonies. If that's not OK, you can send it
back and I'll send Canadian money. - Steve

2022-02-05 Thread Stu via CnC-List

There is always something new to throw at you. Steve – your order went through
okay with the apostrophe in the name. Adding your to the database threw the
curve and without a lot of trouble, it won’t get fixed today.

Your board will have C’est La vie in just like you wanted.

2022-02-05 Thread Steve Staten via CnC-List

Right! So, I went to order a cutting board, Stu. I got this back when I went to
pay w/ PayPal:

"Thank you for your order.
Once we have received confirmation of your payment,
your order will be shipped.
Your order total is $ 43
Link to PayPal Cannot query the database.
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your
MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'est La Vie', '',
'43.00', 'PayPal', '', '')' at line 1"

I don't know if you are familiar with databases and servers but it appears that
your order system handles data inserts in comma-delimited form from the website
with the data fields defined by bracketed apostrophes. The point being is that
my boat name, "C'est La Vie", is messing up the ability of the database or
software to import the order due to the apostrophe in C'est mis-parsing the
data fields. If I leave out the apostrophe on the order, it should process just
fine. The question is, will you be able to remember to include it on the
cutting board? CAN you include it on the cutting board? - Steve Staten

What came to my inbox looks normal on gmail.com.
The actual payload contains a plain text part and an html part and a second
plain text part.
The first two contain the same words, the last contains the part about
Valentine's Day.

This at the top
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
boundary="===6925626204919794291=="So then there are 3
boundaries the second of which contains three new boundaries
--===6925626204919794291==
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
The first section contains no content followed by this. As you can see
another boundary defined.
--===6925626204919794291==
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
boundary="=_Part_371582_500285964.1644077225520"This part inside
the outer boundary contains "Just checking the email list..." in plain
text.
--=_Part_371582_500285964.1644077225520
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
This part contains "Just checking the email list..." formated with html
--=_Part_371582_500285964.1644077225520
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8

...

--=_Part_371582_500285964.1644077225520--
--===6925626204919794291==
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

There is still time to get ...

--===6925626204919794291==--I am by no means knowledgeable
on the subject of email content and formatting. It is my belief that
some email clients may have an issue with this.
It seems strange to me that there is a boundary within a boundary.
I have not compared this to other emails that may or may not look
correct as gmail has no issue with rendering this content.

Cheers.
