Mine is on the way from England just in time for a Thanksgiving cruise. If
things go as usual we’ll have a real cold couple of weeks before Christmas,
instead of putting antifreeze in there I can just take it home 😊

I’ve had my Plastimo 26 gallon tank under Touché’s aft dinette seat for over 15
years. Like it very much.

I am thinking about a bladder. The tank is enough of a mess that I am not sure
I want to deal with it.
Has anyone had good luck with the Plastimo tanks?

I assume you were not involved in the fog-related car pileup.
All good with you?

Stus-List Pressure water pump leak

2023-10-25 Thread Dennis C. via CnC-List
Spending a few days on Touche’ cruising turns up a few gremlins. Here’s an
interesting one.

Bilge pump was running a bit more than expected. Found the gasket on the head
of my Shurflo pressure water was leaking. I depressured the pump, tightened the
screws and it quit. I suspect the air in the accumulator had leaked out over
the years so the diaphragm pump was hammering on the fasteners pretty good and
they loosened. An accumulator dampens the water hammer.

I grabbed the air pump for my fenders and added some air for insurance. When I
get back to home slip I’ll depressure the water side and check the air side for
pressure.

All this while the Navy Blue Angels we’re practicing overhead.
