Congrats on the sale and good luck on the closing of the cat 36.  I bet that
thing dwarfs the 30!
My Viking 33 was stored next to a Catalina 35, I think it was, the difference
was really remarkable for just 2'  and the Viking was actualy 33'-7".

Thanks, Danny

Sadly, Hanuman is sold.  The good news is that the new owner is a friend.  It
came as an odd coincidence that just after the boat came off the market, a
friend decided he wanted finalize the purchase towards the end of the summer.
In the mean time I have a accepted offer on a
Ca...CaCaCata...l.Catalina..Catali.   I can’t say it here.
It’s 36 ft long and has a transom fat enough to drive a VW through.
The 30MKII was getting to cramped.  I tried like hell to find a 34+ or 37+ but
it was not to be.
I’m not leaving here, I’ll stick around. light your flamethrowers and burn
away .or set your phasers to stun if ed was to have his way.

HI Rob

Best of luck with the new boat. Lots of folks have the Catalina and enjoy them
much so hope your luck is the same. Are you staying at Fort Rachel? Is
Hanuman staying in the area?

Cheers

Rob,

Congrats on the sale and upcoming purchase of your fat-ass,
point-5-degrees-lower-than-any-C, floating Catalina Recreational Vehicle.

It’s a very popular brand and there’s a tremendous owners’ group with various
“fleets”. Check out http://www.fleet5lis.org which
is a friendly group of cruisers which started as a Catalina-only group, but now
let others in.

We’re sorry to see you go.

PS — Stun? We have much higher setting than that . . .

All the best,

Edd

I chartered a Catalina 36 in San Diego once. She sailed fine, not C
level but not too bad. I would rather be on my 35 offshore, but the
Catalina 36 seemed very well optimized for cruising in a warm climate.
Ventilation was great with a huge companionway.
