I used to get many magazines. Good Old Boat is the only one that has stayed.

I get Sail (like the handy hints and upgrade projects and the 'what we did
right/wrong' articles) and Sailing World (the racing rules discussions and
diagrams are good learning tools).

I currently get Sail and Cruising World. I'm going to drop CW because I
don't plan to spend three months exploring Tahiti any time soon. Sailing World
wants back. It is worth the money?

Which mags do you read/recommend for racing and coastal cruising?

Re: Stus-List Sailing magazines

2015-01-20 Thread Edd Schillay via CnC-List
Joel,

I’m finding Sailing World is now geared to the high-tech racers and
PHRF racing has become a distant memory. While seeing the latest advances is
interesting, I’m finding it’s not worth it.

I do enjoy Cruising World for the articles and the advertising for gear
and boats.

If you like projects and articles about cruising, I would recommend
“Sailing" and "Good Old Boat". There are also a few British and Australian
digital magazines that I get on my iPad that are also good reads. Also great
are some of the sailing blogs that you can find throughout the Internet full of
projects and adventures — including a few great ones by C&C owners.

All the best,

Edd

Thanks Edd,

I'm glad to see a recommendation for "Good Old Boat" in the very first
reply! ;-)
