I did the install with my checkbook. They
glassed the shelf in the locker then mounted the
windlass to it. Wired direclly to the closest
house battery and never use without the engine running.

I've seen several installations that used a vertical windlass that
straddled the front bulkhead so that the motor was in the v-berth and then
covered up. Not sure if this is possible on the 37/40. Chris's seems
cleaner hidden below but might be useful to have that extra drum on the
foredeck.

I have a vertical Maxwell 800 mounted on a plate glassed in below the
anchor locker door.

I can get pictures at lunch.

Stus-List C 37+ (or XL or R) Windlass Install

2020-07-28 Thread Edd Schillay via CnC-List
To Any Listers with a C 37+, XL or R with an Electric Windlass Installed,

There appears to be a gravitational anomaly occurring in this part of the
planet where my anchor and chain seem to get heavier and heavier as each year
passes, so I’m now in the market for an electric windlass.

I’ve seen some of the installation blogs, but I’m curious if there are any C
37+, XL or R owners on the list who have one installed, which model they chose,
and would be willing to share some photos of their setup, both above and below
deck.

All the best,

Edd
