We have no ego about the sailing anymore and I'm not afraid to admit that I am a fair weather sailor :) We pick our weather. When you're crossing an ocean you don't really get that luxury. We've made similar passages on Lake Ontario - the great lakes can be really rough, but you get to pick your weather so it's avoidable, most of the time.
