Sounds right. My 38 was built in 1976 and the HIN ends in 0176. That is an early form of the HIN, which changed to the model year format later. There were, IIRC three alternate formats for the code at the end of the HIN. The link that Stu already posted has an explanation of the various formats. My number doesn’t have a letter for the month: ZCC420060476. Boats have model years like cars. Model year starts in September, and for many manufacturers start of production in July begins the next model year. Your COD shows the year the boat was "completed" (which, I guess is when it shipped from the factory) and not the model year. That information is in the HIN. Hideaway has the same situation. It’s an ‘85 model built in ‘84. Your HIN says it’s an 85 as does ours. I believe the documentation says ‘84 though. When you sell it’s an ‘85.
