Stus-List prpeller question

I have a 38 ft. landfall with a yanmar 30 hp. What is the correct size of 
propeller for just - cruising - 3 blade??   2 blade??

Whoever you buy the propeller from should specify the diameter and pitch.
Different brand props may require a slightly different pitch.  A 3 blade
prob will give you more bite, but at an additional cost.  If you have a
clearance problem between the blade tip and the hull a 3 blade will allow a
smaller diameter, affording more clearance.  If the blade tip gets too
close to the hull it will create significant vibration.  There is rule of
thumb for blade tip clearance, and the people who sell you the prop should
specify that as well.

My landfall 38 came with a 2-blade but it was severely under-propped.  About 2 
years ago, I changed it out to a 3-blade and it has made a huge difference.

Bill,If I remember correctly.  On my LF38 I had a 17x12 2 blade and replaced it 
with a 17x12 3 blade (over propped). A 17x11 3 blade would be about right. I 
had a 3qm30 yanmar.
