[cobirds] Not Colorado

2013-01-16 Thread Tom Wilberding

Hello frozen birders,

I notice an obscure COBirds rule, “Trip lists and/or bird related travel
reports from outside of Colorado may not be posted on COBirds. If you want
to share your trip lists/reports from other locations, please post them on
your personal website and then send a single message to COBirds directing
subscribers to that location.”
So, if you want to escape to warmer weather, here are some birds I
photographed in Florida in December while visiting my father. Slideshow
takes about 4 minutes: http://bit.ly/XtCegY

Cheers,
Tom Wilberding

[cobirds] Ring-necked Pheasant - Louisville Coyote Run

2013-01-16 Thread Carol McCasland
Ok, probably not that rare, but I was very surprised to see a male
ring-necked pheasant perched in a tree on Coyote Run Open Space in
Louisville today about noon. I heard it call, then saw it. I have walked
this path at least 4 or 5 times week for 3 years and have NEVER seen this
sight. It was in the southwest corner of the dike just after the path turns
west.

[cobirds] Bohemian Waxwings, Delta County

2013-01-16 Thread Jason Beason
A nice surprise in the backyard this morning was a flock of 42 Bohemian
Waxwings! They stayed perched in the top of one of big cottonwoods for
about 30 min doing their buzzing high-pitched trill. Yard species #180 at
Rain Crow Farm! There are also 3 Bald Eagles perched near each other along
the North Fork this morning. Open water is tough to find with this cold
weather.

Good Birding!
