[cobirds] Christmas Bird Counts, Colorado, Covid—19

2020-11-14 Thread Nicholas Komar
Dear CBC compilers and counters of Colorado,

National Audubon Society (NAS) has issued guidance on how to run the upcoming
Christmas Bird Counts (CBC)safely in a manner to avoid coronavirus
transmission, while recognizing that local measures in some jurisdictions may
not allow the event this year.

To facilitate communication between compilers and participants (counters),
CFO’s quarterly speaker series event on December 5 (7 pm) will feature NAS’s
Geoff LeBaron (national CBC Director), and a panel of Colorado compilers. If
you are a compiler please plan on being on the call and announcing your plans
for your CBC this winter. If you are a counter, please attend to find out the
status of your favorite CBCs and get answers to any questions.

Some CBCs have been canceled this year, some are going forward and some have
not yet been decided.

Watch Cobirds for an announcement with login details and/or event registration
instructions towards the end of this month. This event will be free to the
public.

By Saturday, Dec 5, all plans for CBCs should be settled. Tune in online to
find out the plan for your favorite local CBC.
