[cobirds] Phalarope ID help
Was out at Eleven Mile Reservoir and saw this guy bobbing around with two Red-Breasted Mergansers. I think its a Red Phalarope, but it could be a Red-Necked Phalarope. [cobirds] Boulder County Birding Oct. 27
With Pomerine Jaeger on my mind, I visited Boulder and Lagerman Reservoirs this morning. No jaegers, but impressive waterfowl and a few late shorebirds. Lagerman had six Wilson's Snipe, three Long-billed Dowitchers, three Black-bellied Plover, a Greater Yellowlegs, a Least Sandpiper and a dozen or so Killdeer. There were quite a few Northern Pintail, several Canvasback and a lone Wood Duck among 500+ ducks on the water. Boulder Res. had the continuing Pacific and Common Loons and a lone Red-breasted Merganser. Sandhill Cranes continue streaming by... [cobirds] Pueblo Reservoir 10/27
A good day at Pueblo Reservoir. Two female type Black Scoters off SE corner of Pueblo Reservoir. Also, one Common Loon and several Horned Grebes. Red-necked Grebe off West Fishing Road. Also, Red-breasted Merganser and Canvasback. Large numbers of Mountain Bluebirds here as well. Three adult Lesser Black-backed Gulls and six Franklin's Gulls on the South Shore Marina tires. Also a few Herring Gulls, with the many Ring-billed Gulls and some California Gulls. Brandon K.
