Re: [cobirds] Yellow-throated Warbler - El Paso County 11/21

2023-11-21 Thread Brandon
That sighting was on 24 October 2023. Since Fountain Creek Regional Park
is a popular birding location, that bird may have been different then this
one, since there weren't any sightings between Oct 24th and Nov 19th. If
the sighting from 24 October 2023, was right at the nature center too, then
maybe it would be the same bird, if it was somewhere else in park, then
maybe not the same bird. It is interesting that this bird has the yellow
lores, since all the photos I've taken of Yellow-throated Warblers in
Colorado, haven't had any yellow on the lores like this bird.

Brandon and all,

And for what it's worth, Richard Bunn (rare bird reviewer) told us the bird
was actually reported a few weeks ago by some out-of-staters, who didn't
take any photos. He didn't confirm it until he was able to see a photo this
past weekend. So it's been around for a good while.

A Yellow-throated Warbler was found over the weekend at Fountain Creek
Regional Park, El Paso County. I got photos today, and I see it has yellow
above the eyes. Usually I see the all white ones in Colorado. I'm not

Hopefully someone can confirm if that is what this bird is, as I think
Yellow-throated Warbler *(**albilora) *is the all white lored ones.
