My first bird of the year was a Cackling Goose among a flock on (mostly)
frozen Grasmere Lake at the crack of dawn on Jan 1st.

[cobirds] Possible Yellow-throated Warbler - Deer Creek Canyon - Meadowlark Trail - Jefferson County, CO

2022-05-19 Thread Gisellys Zarzuela
Hi All,

Wish I had more time to observe this bird before it flew off, but I am
fairly certain I saw a Yellow-throated Warbler today (5/19) on Meadowlark
Trail in Deer Creek Canyon.

Definitely saw bold white eyebrow, striking black/white face, and more
yellow than a Yellow-Rump Warbler and then poof off he flew.

Happy Birding,

[cobirds] Olive-sided Flycatcher - Prospect Park, Wheat Ridge, CO, Jefferson County

2022-05-19 Thread Gisellys Zarzuela
Hi Everyone,

Spent a good while looking at a nice Olive-sided Flycatcher yesterday
evening (5/18) along Clear Creek in Prospect Park. He was sporting a "vest"
and remained perched at a treetop for a very long time. Observed by
multiple birders.

Happy Birding,
Gigi

Just an update that our immature Summer Tanager is still at Prospect Park.
Was spotted in the same general area on the creek side across Tabor Lake.
Was observed by a group of birders on a DA field trip as well as a group
from Boulder Birding.

We also saw a lovely Virginia's Warbler and Lark Sparrow on this rainy
morning!
