[cobirds] Re: Sandhill Cranes over Niwot, Boulder County
I observed a flock of approximately 50 Sandhill Cranes fly over Fossil Creek Reservoir regional natural area (eastern Larimer County) on Sunday, November 20, at 12:30 pm. They circled several times on the north side of the reservoir as if to land in the open farm fields, but then continued south in a broken chevron. They circled, again, over the open lands on the south side of the reservoir for perhaps 10 minutes. At one point they were directly overhead putting on an incredible display of sight and sound. Then they flew off to the south southeast. It was quite a memorable experience. [cobirds] Possible Great-Crested Flycather in Fort Collins
I watched a possible Great-crested Flycatcher in my front yard this morning. I got a good long look at it and am fairly confident of my identification. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group. [cobirds] Re: Lazuli Bunting - Dougla
Yes, they're back! One showed up at our backyard feeder in southwest Fort Collins last evening around 6:30 pm. It paid a brief visit, again, this morning and, apparently, left town. Also, a wave of Bullocks' Orioles came through the Dixon Reservoir hot spot in west Fort Collins this morning. Such brilliant spring plumage! [cobirds] Re: Snow goose vs hydrid?
Dave, I'm pleased someone else has seen the goose. I think I have seen the same bird several times at Fossil Creek, and was hoping someone would suggest a possible identification. [cobirds] Redheads and C. Merganzers in Larimer Co.
I have been observing large numbers of Common Mergansers (over 200) and Redheads(120) on a small lake at the intersection of N. Shields St. and Larimer Co Road 56. I believe the lake is called Kluver Reservoir. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
