Re: [cobirds] Acadian Flycatcher update

2023-05-23 Thread Peter Gent
All,

MANY CONGRATULATIONS to Brandon for finding the Acadian Flycatcher
yesterday: not an easy identification. Thanks also for letting everyone on
Cobirds know promptly, and staying around for several hours helping other
people to see the bird. This is the second time this species has been
recorded in Colorado, and guess who found the first record. Yes, Brandon
found the bird which was seen at Van's Grove, which is NW of John Martin
Res, on 12 May 2009: that bird only stayed for one day. Reports and photos
of that bird by Brandon, Joey Kellner and Bill Maynard can be seen at
https://cobrc.org/Reports/SpeciesDetail.aspx?id=265

Cheers, Peter Gent.

[cobirds] Acadian Flycatcher update

2023-05-23 Thread Brandon
The bird was still present and see many yesterday through 740pm at Bell
Grove at Chico Basin Ranch. $15 per person to visit the ranch. Hope to
have an update soon, if it stayed the night. Other goodies on the ranch
yesterday: singing Alder Flycatcher, Philadelphia and Red-eyed Vireos,
Hooded and Magnolia Warblers, Ovenbird.

[cobirds] Acadian Flycatcher update

2023-05-22 Thread Brandon
As of 3pm, still in the two ash trees in the Bell Grove at Chico Basin
Ranch, El Paso County. Seen by lots of people and many photos taken.
Everyone has left now. Good luck to anyone else coming. Note the wide
bill, very yellow lower maniable, green back, white eye ring, white
underparts.
