We received a large amount of rain and thunderstorms last night, which left
the nets a little water laden, which may have affected our capture rates
today. Though Birdcast anticipated as it being a high volume day for
migration, our station had a few trickle in with 26 captures, with a
majority of them being Wilson's Warblers. It was Kara's first day
volunteering and she did a wonderful job! She will be helping out on Friday
and you are able to see our Ebird report from today if you'd like.

Chico's captures for 9/3:
Wilson's Warbler 10
Orange-crowned Warbler 2
Western Wood-pewee
Traill's Flycatcher 1 (we did wing formula and everything and the bird
could not be determined)
Macgillvray's Warbler 1
Chipping Sparrow 1
Cassin's Vireo 1
Yellow Warbler 1
Lazuli Bunting 1
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
Swainson's Thrush 2
Veery 1

Recaptures:
Wilson's Warbler 1

Unbanded:
American Robin

We are open 6 days a week at Chico Basin Ranch (closed Sunday), usually
returning from the first net run around 7am and staying open until about
11:30am, weather permitting.
Looking forward to meeting you all!
