After wrapping up my Elbert BBS yesterday, I drove over to Winkler Ranch on
the road west of Castlewood Canyon SP (Douglas Co) to look for Bobolinks in
the alfalfa fields. At 12:30 p.m., 93 degrees, I didn't expect them to be
active but there they were. Three of them flew west, fluttering up and back
down into the field, eventually landing on the fence line just past the
small red barn, further west than I typically see them.
