[cobirds] Colorado Christmas Bird Count Dates for Dec 14, 2019-Jan 5, 2020

2019-10-06 Thread 'Brandon' via Colorado Birds
Compilers of Colorado Christmas Bird Counts are now able to choose their
date for their CBC on the CBC Website. I see that the Barr Lake CBC is
scheduled for Sunday, 29 December 2019. The first date for counts this
year, is on Saturday, 14 December 2019, which I expect a lot of counts will
be going on throughout the state that day and following day 15 December
2019. The last day for a count is Sunday, 5 January 2020. Luckily there
are other weekends that counts can be held this year, on 21-22 December,
28-29 December, and 4-5 January, that don't interfere with holidays. A few
counts are during the week, and a few are always on Jan 1st. Colorado
usually has over 40 Christmas Bird Counts around the state each winter.
Hopefully it will be successful Colorado Christmas Bird Count season, and
decent weather. If compilers want me to enter the date for your count onto
the CBC Website, just let me know. I'll try to post a list of CBC Dates
around Nov 1st, and Dec 1st, so everyone can plan their Christmas Bird
Count schedule. Some people like to go on a lot of them, so advance
planning and knowing when the dates are, helps people choose count they
want to help with.

[cobirds] Colorado Christmas Bird Count dates

2015-11-02 Thread 'Brandon K. Percival' via Colorado Birds
Hi all,
Christmas Bird Count Compilers got an e-mail from National Audubon today, that
their website is open to post dates for Christmas Bird Counts.  As usual the
dates are from Monday, 14 Dec to Tuesday, 5 January.
So, the weekends, when many counts will be held this year would be Saturday, 19
December and Sunday, 20 December, Saturday 26 December, and Sunday, 27
December, and Saturday, 2 January 2016 and Sunday, 3 January 2016.  Another
popular date would be Friday, 1 January 2016.  There are usually over 45
Christmas Bird Counts held in Colorado annually, from all over the state.
I'll try to post dates here, later in November.  Compilers if you want people
to help with your count, go ahead and let the word out on cobirds, etc. and
post the date to the CBC Website.  If you have issues doing that, let me know,
or the CBC people back east.  Some counts in rural areas in the state, don't
have a lot of help, so if you can help with some of these counts, that would be
wonderful.
