COBirders,
While working today I noticed a warbler in the cottonwood out the back door, so
I tried to get on it before it flew. Unfortunately, it flew before I could see
it well. I decided to go take a look out front in the direction it flew and
found a female SUMMER TANAGER working in the weeds about 2 feet off of the
ground. Other migrants around the house today were BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER,
YELLOW WARBLER and WESTERN TANAGER. Yesterday I had a DUSKY FLYCATCHER for
just a few minutes.
A quick stop at Big Johnson this evening did not yield really anything new.
There did seem to be a few more LESSER SCAUP there than what have been around
and there were at least 3 of the 4 COMMON LOONS that have been around. I would
not be surprised if the fourth bird is still there. Loons are notorious for
disappearing and reappearing at this reservoir.
