[cobirds] Godwits - Walker Pit, Douglas

2020-04-21 Thread 'Hugh Kingery' via Colorado Birds
On a whim, Urling & I just went over to the Walker Pit, (west of Franktown).
What a good whim..
We puzzled over and then figured out that we viewed Marbled Godwits -- 71 of
them! Also a couple of Willets and 8 American Avocets. Plus a dozen or so
Gadwalls & shovelers, 4 Lesser Scaup, an Eared Grebe and half a dozen
Buffleheads.
The mass of godwits really amazed us
