[cobirds] What Bryan was saying . . .

2021-08-29 Thread Ted Floyd
Hey, all.

Just a quick Sunday morning, Aug. 29, 2021, check-in. It's cool and
overcast here in Lafayette, eastern Boulder County.

I stepped outside for a moment to fix something in the yard that broke
overnight, and, right away, I heard my first-of-season *Wilson warbler.*

Thanks to Bryan Guarente for these periodic bird migration
predictions--always useful and educational and, more often than not,
spot-on accurate.

Ted Floyd
Lafayette, Boulder County

2021-08-29 Thread Steven Brown
Adding to the thread “Bryan Got it Right” - at Clear Spring Ranch (El Paso Co)
this morning the strong overnight wind blew out the big numbers of birds I
banded yesterday - but blew in a new contingent of unusual migrants - including
Ovenbird (my 3rd here in 10 years), Cassin’s Vireo (my 5th here), and several
MacGillivray’s, Yellow, and Wilson’s Warblers. The 110 Chipping Sparrows I had
yesterday was down to about 30 today! Not big numbers arriving, but some good
ones.

Thanks, Bryan, for the heads-up,
Steve Brown
