[cobirds] White-eyed Vireo , Palmer Lake

2011-08-29 Thread Jxdrummo
Hi CO birders :

The White-eyed Vireo was singing again this morning at Palmer
Lake in Monument Creek . It has moved about a 100 yards downstream from its
location last week , about 25 yards downstream of the bridge at the
intersection of Walnut Ave and Glen Ave . Behavior continues to be very
skulking in
dense willow carr.

Another bird of sorts of note on my walk. A lovely young lady in a
bikini doing a photo modeling shoot perched on a Suzuki motor cycle ( yes I
got
all the details but I won't be submitting a CO Rare Bird Report ).

[cobirds] White-eyed Vireo , Palmer Lake

2011-08-23 Thread Jxdrummo
CO birders :

There was a White-eyed Vireo singing close to the Palmer Lake
Reservoir Trail Head parking lot this morning. It was seen ( and photographed
) along Monument Creek in dense willow carr and behavior was very skulking
allowing only brief views. Its typical song could be heard from the parking
lot which is just 50 yards from the creek . Coordinates 39 Deg 7 ' 8 N ,
104 Deg 55' 58 W .

The trail head parking lot is accessible from Palmer Lake ( El Paso Cty
) via South Valley Road and the one way Old Carriage Road.
