Once again we are expanding our Mac team at Skype and looking for
skilled Cocoa developers. Please see the detailed description below:

The Brief:

Skype is software that enables the world's conversations. Millions of
individuals and businesses use Skype to make free video and voice
calls, send instant messages and share files with other Skype users.
Everyday, people everywhere also use Skype to make low-cost calls to
landlines and mobiles. Download Skype to your computer or mobile phone

The Business Specific brief:

The Skype for Mac product has millions of users around the world and
it is one of the most popular Mac applications. We are expanding our
team and looking for talented developers who have passion to deliver
high-quality modern communication software on Mac OS X platform.

You will report to the Mac Product Engineering Manager and be an
integral part of the team, developing and maintaining the Skype for
Mac product. We are looking for experienced Mac developers or talented
junior developers who are eager to take their Cocoa skills to a new
level.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop new features.
- Improve and maintain existing features.
- Proactively optimize overall performance of the application.
- Create unit tests for the software components that you build.
- Actively participate in discussions about product features, provide
technical point of view and development estimates.

Candidate Profile:

- 3 years of software development experience.
- Experience in Objective-C and Cocoa.
- Experience in multithreaded programming, asynchronous and event
driven application design.
- Should be well disciplined in the application development processes
of requirements analysis, functional spec development, prototyping,
implementation, testing, documentation and maintenance.

Behaviours:

- Must be self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
- Goal-oriented and focused to get things done on time.
- Demonstrate creative and critical thinking capabilities and able to
pay attention to details.
- Continuously keeping eye on the latest cutting edge technologies and
leveraging these in your work as necessary.

Qualifications:

- Ideally a BSc degree in Computer Science or similar discipline.

Location: Tallinn (Estonia), Stockholm (Sweden) or Brisbane, CA (USA)

Hello,

Looking for a skilled Cocoa developer with a positive attitude toward
working in an environment of frequently changing requirements. As an
engineer in the Skype for Mac OS X desktop team, you will help design
and develop new features for the Skype for Mac product. Ideal
candidate should be very familiar with application design and user
interface implementation. Must be a self-motivated and creative person
and able to work well in a team environment.

Desired Experience:

* Proven track record of delivering application software.
* Excellent skills in Objective-C and Cocoa.
* Should have a strong knowledge of multithreaded programming,
asynchronous and event driven application design.
* Should be well disciplined in the application development processes
of requirements analysis, functional spec development, prototyping,
implementation, testing, documentation and maintenance.

Location:
* This position is based in Europe, preferably London or Tallinn
(Estonia), alternatively Prague or Stockholm.
