NSOpenSavePanelDelegate mounting all drives of a server

2010-08-02 Thread Lyndsey Ferguson
Hello Everyone,

I'm looking into a problem that appears when I use a
NSOpenSavePanelDelegate to filter files from the NSOpenPanel dialog on
Mac OS X 10.6.4.

The problem is that when the user clicks on one of the drives attached
to an NAS, many other drives become mounted, and for some of our
customers that have a lot of drives attached, this can take some time.

For example:

1. While the NSOpenPanel dialog is open, the user navigates to the
Company server in the "SHARED" portion of the left side panel.
2. In column view, the user clicks the Company server, and selects the
Pubs drive. When he does that, the Engineering, Backup, Marketing, and
other drives are also mounted.

If I change the code so it doesn't use my
NSOpenSavePanelDelegate-derived class, this problem doesn't occur.

If I simply change the delegate so that its one function, "-
(BOOL)panel:(id)sender shouldShowFilename:(NSString*)filename" returns
YES, the problem continues to occur.

Is this a known problem? Is there a workaround?

Thanks,
Mr. Lyndsey Ferguson
