Re: Using tag with Cocoon (newbie question)

2001-12-28 Thread Bernhard Huber

hi,

reading docs about Cocoon2.0 the xml-processing instruction were
abandoned, so
by design choice

 was replaced by the sitemap/pipeline/transform
definitions.
In Cocoon1 xml-stylesheet was by design the way to select the stylesheet
processing, this is no longer true for Cocoon2.

One solution might be to use CVS, or any RevisionControlSystem
to allow several developers access their own stylesheets...

hope it helps..

Right, so this is the correct web page for the Cocoon FAQs, but it doesn't
actually say anything about how I can get Cocoon to do transformations on
the embedded tags instead of looking to the sitemap file.
Is there anyway to do this that you (or others!) know of?

Cya,

Chris

I think you need to configure an additional xml serializer with the
iso-8859-7 encoding, AFAIK the encoding settings in XSL transforms are
ignored.

Here's an example for 8859-1:

in sitemap.xmap:

iso-8859-1

then

Hope this helps!

Specifying XSL sheet for client side translation in XSP?

2001-12-28 Thread Rune Sandnes

I have gotten the browser-detection features to work with Cocoon 2, I
plan to serve
raw XML and XSL to users of Explorer 6, so they can do the
XSL-transformation client-side,
Cocoon will do the transformation for other browsers.

My sitemap looks like this, and it works nicely for static files:

(The string "explorer6" is defined further up in the sitemap, with

i the section)

The start of the XML file in question looks like this:

The part is ignored when Cocoon does the
transformation, the
transform specified in the sitemap takes preference.

My problem is that I don't want to serve static XML files, but generated
content
through XSP. When I try to do this operation with a generated XSP file I
can't
seem to get the instruction through to the client. It
just
disappears, no matter where in the XSP file I put it.

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks,
Rune,

sql query

2001-12-28 Thread Ferran Urgell

I'm using cocoon2, and I've used sql queries, with
the next query:

xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
          select
id,numero,url from bioquimica

But I don't know how can I get the attribute of the
query. (it's called  "bioquimica")

thanks

Kounis,

try modifying the sitemap.xmap element, by changing the
output enconding to the one you prefer, like in:

iso-8859-7

Performance of C2

2001-12-28 Thread Bobby Koya

Has anyone actually tested the performance of Cocoon 2 on a Win2K/XP JVM
compared to Linux JVM on the same box? If so is it faster/slower/more
stable/less stable etc?

I want to know so that I know what to watch out for when hosting to
clients + can't be bothered to go through the complex setup of running
XP and linux on my machine.

Thanks
