using 1.8.2 with Tomcat as Service on w2k
Hi -- Managed to get Tomcat 3.3.1 running as a service on my w2k server. It is running in conjunction with IIS 5.0. Tomcat also has Cocoon 1.8.2. If I kick off Tomcat manually Cocoon works great. If it runs as a service, I get Class not found: org.apache.cocoon.Cocoon In jvm.stderr I'm guessing it's a configuration problem - anyone see this before? Michael, you need a servlet container, be it Tomcat/WebLogic/iPlanet... I inferred you used Tomcat because it is the most commonly used. Michael, yes, Cocoon 2 runs fine with: - IIS 5.0 - Tomcat 4.0.x - Isapi filter for Tomcat BTW, the above sentence is inaccurate, since IIS doesn't even see Cocoon, it connects only to Tomcat, hence, your question should be: Tomcat and IIS 5 ? RE: MSFT answer to Cocoon? (Plaease don't throw stones :)
Thanks Roger - this solution INTRIGUES me... Has anyone done this or knows where to get info to couple IIS with Tomcat? Are cases/examples on Apache.org somewhere? RE: MSFT answer to Cocoon? (Plaease don't throw stones :)
This sounds right - from my research with .Net it doesn't rival cocoon - was hoping there was a snap-in to IIS that mimics Cocoon Mike -Original Message- From: Stefan Seifert [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, June 11, 2002 2:44 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: MSFT answer to Cocoon? (Plaease don't throw stones :) But you still have to do most of things on foot which is already built into Cocoon. The technology is there (well, most of it), but there is now framework nearly comparable to Cocoon in the MS/.NET-world (yet).
