RE: Using Cocoon with Intelligent Clients
From: Rajput, Ashish S [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Hello all, I'm a newbie to Cocoon. Still reading up on it from what I've read thus far, Cocoon can generate various formats depending on the client. My question is: Can I use Cocoon to deliver content to an intelligent client coded in Java Swing? What are the various format options I'd have while delivering content? What do you want? Text, XML, RTF, PDF, PS, JPG, PNG, MS Excel? Vadim I'm trying to build a product structure tree where users can drill down to the lowest component level. Based upon their selection of a particular component, relevant info for that part is retrieved from a DB. I'd like to have the option of delivering to a traditional web interface, as well as a Java client. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you! The primary format options I'm looking for are XML, HTML, PDF, MS Excel, MS Word, SVG, VRML (to name a few)... Actually, producing RTF allows Cocoon-generated documents to be opened directly by MS Word, fairly transparently for the user. -- Bertrand Delacrétaz (codeconsult.ch, jfor.org) buzzwords: XML, java, XSLT, cocoon, mentoring/teaching/coding. disclaimer: eternity is very long. mostly towards the end. get ready. - Please check that your question has not already been answered in the FAQ before posting. http://xml.apache.org/cocoon/faqs.html To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
