how can a bean access the XML data

Hi,

Using Cocoon 1.8 I am calling an xml page. On the click of a
button I wish to call a java bean to process the data. How will the bean access
the data? In a JSP we do the same using the get-set methods. In XSP how does the
bean have access to the data and how should the bean be called from the
xml?

Thanks,
