Re: [CODE4LIB] Hours on Library Websites?
We use LibCal from SpringShare and used some CSS to customize the look/feel: Daily hours: http://library.daytonastate.edu/index All hours: http://library.daytonastate.edu/about/hours On Thu, Jul 7, 2016 at 10:33 AM, Matt Sherman wrote: > Hi all, > > We are working on a website migration/redesign into WordPress and I am > trying to figure out an automated solution for posting and keeping up > to date the hours on the home page. [CODE4LIB] digital badges in LibGuides CMS
Dear Techies, Wondering about creating quizzes and using digital badges in LibGuides CMS. Is this something that some of you currently do? Would you recommend SpringShare as the platform to host this kind of interaction? We use D2L at my institution, but we don't currently use digital badges as a college. [CODE4LIB] locking app for iPads
Dear Fellow Techs, We're looking to create a circulation policy for iPads (gen 4) in the Learning Commons, and were wondering about an app that will lock the device after a specific amount of time (3-4 hours). The idea is if a student does, in fact, steal the device, they will be locked out of actually utilizing it. Has anyone heard of something like this? Many thanks! [CODE4LIB] SpringShare
Dear LibTechs, At DSC, we are currently expanding our LibGuides, along with developing documentation and policies with using and creating these guides. Rather than recreating the wheel, I was wondering if anyone from the listserv would be willing to share their documentation/policies/best practices with using these guides? I've found a few things, especially regarding best practices, but we're looking to create more formal policies/do's and don'ts at this point. Many thanks! Re: [CODE4LIB] PDF to Word converter?
I know you're looking for PDF to Word, but just as an fyi, I recently used Office Convert to convert PDF to JPG and it worked very well: http://download.cnet.com/Office-Convert-PDF-to-JPG-JPEG-TIFF-Free/3000-10743_4-10900900.html -Cheryl On Fri, Apr 1, 2011 at 12:53 PM, Carol Bean wrote: > I have WordPerfect X4, which does a questionable job of (natively) > converting pdf's, and from which one could then copy and paste the > questionable results into a Word document. > > Has anyone been down this road before (trying to find something better than > what WordPerfect does, and that works directly with Word)?
