I could also reproduce it with the source from mid of November. Working with the go shell, I get now a Java Exception which does have a null-message. I assume that is the same Message shown in the WebUI. Having that, I assume it is quite an easy fix. Unfortunately I am still struggeling with building ace from sources to fix this. Neither the simple ant-call in the build folder works for me nor is there a bin-build.xml somewhere. When using a clean ace (which has not been executed our gosh script yet), adding of the described bundle works fine. Unfortunately I don't get any additional output on the console. Checked the jar file, and its structure looks okay: the manifest is the first
entry.
Checked the manifest, and what I miss is a header that indicates the "version"
of the manifest (introduced in OSGi R4):

I think that could be the reason why the UI complains. If you use the shell,
there are different ways to "upload" an artifact and depending on the way you
choose, you can "circumvent" the file type checks that the UI always performs.
That explains why you can make it work with the shell.
[~bjoern.petri], could you take a look if this is indeed the issue?
