Michael Bien commented on NETBEANS-5767:

{code:java}
INFO [org.netbeans.modules.maven.indexer.ClassDependencyIndexCreator]:
Exception indexing
C:\Users\FiruzzZ\.m2\repository\com\ibm\icu\icu4j\2.6.1\icu4j-2.6.1.jar
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: invalid constant pool type: 60
...{code}
does the exception only happen when NB is trying to index icu4j-2.6.1.jar?

I looked at the latest jvm spec and there is no such thing as a constant with
the tag 60.

does is still happen with NetBeans 12.5?

[jira] [Closed] (NETBEANS-6168) When Create Java project in Netbeans, problem with Java class file creation.

Michael Bien closed NETBEANS-6168.

Resolution: Not A Problem

NetBeans 12.3 does not support running on JDK 17. NetBeans 12.5 supports
running on JDK 16, but is known to work ok on 17 if the nb-javac module is
disabled.

For full JDK 17 support you could try a rc build of 12.6.

[jira] [Updated] (NETBEANS-6167) Find box controls not working

2021-10-31 Thread Thomas Kirby (Jira)

Thomas Kirby updated NETBEANS-6167:
---
Description:
Open any text file, Type Ctrl+F to open Find box.  Case, whole word and regex
buttons do not work. There is no response to clicking/tapping the buttons, nor
using the keyboard shortcuts Alt+C, Alt+O and Alt+G.

The failure is on a Dell Inspiron 7786 laptop, on which NB worked normally
previously. The same NB 12.5 on a Windows 10 desktop works as expected.  On the
laptop, Ctrl+Shift+S and Ctrl+Shift+H (for instance) work normally, but
Ctrl+Shift+F does not respond.

The failure was noticed immediately after installing the Windows 11 update on a
laptop. Probably unrelated, though, rolling back to Windows 10 had no effect on
the problem.

Importing the exported keymap file from the working machine did not solve the
problem.

While not a show-stopper, this severely impedes the normal workflow.

[jira] [Commented] (NETBEANS-296) Add hyperlinks to stacktraces outputted by Maven Surefire

2021-10-31 Thread Goran Karlic (Jira)

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-296?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17436489#comment-17436489

Goran Karlic commented on NETBEANS-296:
---

There seems to be a regression relating to maven-surefire-plugin 3.0.0-M4.

When using maven-surefire-plugin 3.0.0-M3 (or older) the debug console output
is properly hyperlinked.

When using maven-surefire-plugin 3.0.0-M4 (or later) the exactly same debug
console output is NOT hyperlinked.

This seems to be related to maven-surefire-plugin 3.0.0-M4 using "[...]
extensions of reporters which can be used to customize XML report, console and
file reporters" (see
[https://maven.apache.org/surefire/maven-surefire-plugin/index.html).]

If it helps, one can compare the changes between maven-surefire-plugin 3.0.0-M3
and 3.0.0-M4:

warning
new b64d24e Merge pull request #3287 from
matthiasblaesing/reduce_level_regexp
fd437b1 is described below

commit fd437b125fc689a08321246e95e92a94b49324a2
Author: Matthias Bläsing
AuthorDate: Sat Oct 30 12:16:03 2021 +0200

CheckRegexp hint causes all lines with regexp shown with a warning

The severity of the CheckRegexp of VERIFIER causes all lines in source
files containing a regexp to be marked as warning. This is invalid, as
the regexp are perfectly ok.

The severity is reduced to HINT. That way the hint is readily available
when the regexp is under the cursor, but does not clutter the whole
file.
