Make error 139
Hi...I tried to run QEMU, but I get the foloowing error: ( cd build/qemu ; arm-softmmu/qemu-system-arm \ -M neo -m 130 -usb -show-cursor \ -mtdblock openmoko/openmoko-flash.image \ -kernel openmoko/openmoko-kernel.bin ) Could not configure '/dev/rtc' to have a 1024 Hz timer. This is not a fatal error, but for better emulation accuracy either use a 2.6 host Linux kernel or type 'echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq' as root. neo_gsm_switch: GSM disabled. /bin/sh: line 3: 6868 Segmentation fault (core dumped) arm-softmmu/qemu-system-arm -M neo -m 130 -usb -show-cursor -mtdblock openmoko/openmoko-flash.image -kernel openmoko/openmoko-kernel.bin make: *** [run-qemu] Fehler 139 Can anyone help me? I know, that this can be a problem with the version of gcc. Is it so? Stephan ___ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

rough seas
Dear Community! Mickey and Harald blogged a bit about what's happening over here but I know it's not in the level of detail that you all are looking for. In less than a week, we will update you about what's going on at FIC/ OpenMoko, the status of GTA01/02, and our plans for selling these neos. I'm really sorry such a long silence on my end. Internally, I've been involved in changes that are so big and so tiring, that I really don't fall asleep anymore. I just go home and pass out. Quite often still in my work cloths. Yesterday was a holiday in Taiwan and I was finally able to get caught up with the messages from this list. There were some fascinating discussions these past few weeks! Thank you so much for your continued support in spite of our delays. We're really trying our hearts out here to get these neo's shipping. All these changes, while painfully exhausting, are for the better. As the ancient proverb goes, "A smooth sea never made a skilled mariner." Once complete, we'll be in a great position. I will tell you more details soon. So please wish us luck. We're just about at the tipping point. -Sean ___ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
Some Application Thoughts - What do you think?
Hi list, I recently added two ideas/projects to the wiki. I want to raise your attention and start a discussion about what you think. I also want to encourage you contributing your ideas to the wiki. 1. Bluetooth powered Multi-SIM support ( http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Bluetooth_powered_Multi-SIM_support ) As the Neo1971 does not come with dual-SIM support this could be solved by joining your old bluetooth-enabled mobile to your OpenMoko-phone. Let SIM card A be in your OpenMoko-phone and SIM card B in your old mobile: Incoming call on SIM card B - the OpenMoko-phone acts as a headset(Bluetooth Headset profile) Calling out via SIM card B - the OpenMoko-phone acts again as a headset Same for Short Messages/MMS/Internet This way you'd have your old phone switched silent and connected to your OpenMoko-phone that handles all the calls and one can select which SIM card to use. Advantage: No 'switching' between cards Disadvantage: Second mobile needs to be in range(e.g. handbag) and charged every once in a while. 2. Voice Mailbox ( http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Voice_Mailbox ) On-Phone voice mailbox that records calls on the phone and retrieves voice messages from your mobile service provider's voice mailbox and saves them locally. Can act profile-dependent. tim/minime ___ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Re: New wishlist item: Side-mounted touch strip sensor
well, i didn't like 'touch strip/pad' idea at first, but maybe it can be used for some kind of poor multi-touch feature ;-) hold one finger in some point of the screen and slide with another finger on touch strip and screen rotates/images zoom in/mp3 rewinds... a key for usability of this idea would be a position of the touch strip on the Neo... just a thought... :-) P.
