Sorry if this double posted guys. I was having issues with Gmail. Well, usually companies like these have huge "firewalls" before you hit someone with a respectable IQ. Though, their phones are slightly more vulnerable. So, who is up to calling them? If I had some amount of donations, I would be willing to create two 800 numbers that redirect to the two known smediatech numbers. The rates would be $0.0415/minute. Additionally snail mail is useful, because it creates a pain in the ass for whoever is filtering the mail. I don't know if there is a Taiwainese equivalent of the BBB, but if there is, please chime in. Other ideas: -Google bomb the name "Smediatech" to something nasty [like a page about how smedia sucks] -Just a general web page about smedia's suckage. Remember guys, stay legal. [FSO unstable] - qtopia-x11 not installable
Hi list, after having made the round of all distributions (I'm another one who has a Freerunner gathering dust), I thought I'd try the unstable FSO, just for the sake of it. Well, there is no graphic at first, so ssh into it, adding /etc/opkg/unstable.conf with rc/gz unstable-all http://downloads.openmoko.org/repository/unstable/all src/gz unstable-arm http://downloads.openmoko.org/repository/unstable/armv4t src/gz unstable-neo http://downloads.openmoko.org/repository/unstable/neo1973 src/gz unstable-gta02 http://downloads.openmoko.org/repository/unstable/om-gta02 opkg update opkg upgrade opkg install qtopia-x11 And it spits out an error that it can't find libxi6... Obviously, as it's not in the repository! How do I get that library? It's in testing, but not in unstable - why? What did I miss? Yeah. That worked. I have tried today adding removing files to see which one was failing. The problems seemed to be with one file under Settings/Trolltech . Try adding drag_bitmap="1" to the navit tag (like recent_dest). I agree that it should get more advertising, because it's a very useful patch (thanks again Florian for that). It's not enabled by default because it's not yet supported by every graphics drivers (e.g. : on wince). I'll add a comment in the xml file for that, and we'll probably enable it by default on the opkg build. > and it doesn't include a wrapper script with: > echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/overcommit_memory > Yes, indeed. i ran into the same issue, and without it you can't load streets files. > Finally I've seen this screenshot [1] in scap, is this an EFL > implementation of Navit? Re: case manufacturing
I made a case mockup a little while ago. But I never had time to create a 3D model. I came across a few problems while I designed the case: - The Freerunner doesn't have any buttons on its front. In addition to that, the borders left and right from the display are pretty large (around 0.8 cm/0.315 inch). Everytime I looked at my mockup, I thought it's looking some kind of strange. It's really hard to get a good design if you only have a display and nothing more. - Another problem that was resulted by the one above was that every mockup I made looked either like the iPhone or a LG Prada (or like all the other mobiles with a touchscreen). These days nearly every touchscreen phone looks the same! - The last problem I came across was the thickness. Even if the bevels around the display are removed (that makes about 3mm/0.12inch less), the phone is still very thick. But I don't think there is a way to get it smaller... Have a look at the mockup here: http://www.opkg.org/images/case_mockup.jpg It would be really cool if someone could create a new case. I never liked the original one, and something more "stylish" would be great.
