Re: touchpad on OM
2009/7/21 Petr Vanek van...@penguin.cz This is not the problem. If you want to simulate a drag, you need to have the pointer where the drag takes place. But at the same time you're touching the touchscreen and thus moving the pointer under your finger. With clicking this is not a problem, because the pointer is moved to the place where you wanted to click just for a moment. no worries, if i really need to drag something, i connect vnc I could implement dragging this way: first move the pointer to the position where you want to begin drag. Press a begin drag button, and it leaves some kind of marker there. Then move the pointer to where you want to finish drag, press a button again, and a drag event is generated for these positions. I'm just brainstorming, if you really need such awkward feature let me know. ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Please post here your reports. Since about 5 days I'm using my #1024 fixed device as my main phone (before I only used it with my test SIM) and so far stability is pretty good. I measured standby time (GSM on, phone in suspend) of around 140h which makes the Freerunner much more comfortable to use in my opinion. While increasing the capacitance does work to solve #1024 the actual problem is that the capacitor is not integrated in the regulator feedback loop (iirc). So while it's not the correct solution it's probably the best you can do without another hardware revision. How it works manually depends on your setup. If you're not using wep or wpa (like i dont), its basicly a combination of the right /etc/network/interfaces, ifup, ifdown (and iwconfig to speed it up). ifup should call udhcpc for you. iwlist is your friend, too. if you are using wep or wpa, i guess you'd need to write a wpa_supplicant. All that is described here http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Wireless_Networking except for how to exactly set up /etc/network/interfaces. I figured that out by reading examples... Indeed, it wasnt easy. RE: Intone 0.60 Almost Stable ;-)
Hi, Intone now rejects a second keypress if it happens within 150ms of the first one and prints that out too - just so it's clear. Staley, Daniel L wrote: It looks to me like the error occurs after I used the previous key, and then tried the play/pause key. When that happened intone gui shows on the play/pause toggle button a play button (when it should be a pause) and just keeps on playing the song. Ok. Gotcha! That was a timer issue. Should be fixed now. I'm starting a new thread for bluetooth usage - that binary also has this fix. Thanks for the report. -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/Intone-0.60-Almost-Stable---%29-tp3283204p3307095.html Sent from the Openmoko Community mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
Intone binary (to test bluetooth headset issues)
Hi, I thought it would be best if I could keep all the bluetooth headset and control keys (AVRCP) issues in one thread for future reference. I'm posting a binary that :- 1. rejects a second play/pause press (happens on at least one headset automatically) if it happens with 150ms of the first one 2. prints out when it rejects the second play/pause key press 3. is more tolerant to the bluetooth blips 4. should recover automatically from broken connections with bluetooth headsets and play from speakers 5. Automatically insmod's 'uinput' for the AVRCP keypress detection 6. Switches on bluetooth on selecting bluetooth streaming It also fixes the Pause not working after pressing back key (5 secs from beginning of song) pointed out by Staley, Daniel L. I request all users who have any feedback to mention the following :- 1. headset model 2. whether the keys works or not 3. any peculiarities (like the Plantronics Voyager 855 that sends 2 presses for play/pause) 4. any other keys that need support (vol +/- etc) and their scan codes. To get the scan code run intone from the terminal. It will print a message like keyname-Keycode-171,Keycode-171. Please post the message here. 5. anything else that you feel is relevant and helpful for debugging etc Thanks http://n2.nabble.com/file/n3307149/intone intone -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/Intone-binary-%28to-test-bluetooth-headset-issues%29-tp3307149p3307149.html Sent from the Openmoko Community mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
