Re: Re: How to manually delete sms from sim using dbus2 or something else?

2010-03-19 Thread neo
 To list messages (latest shr-t):
 mdbus2 -s org.freesmartphone.ogsmd /org/freesmartphone/GSM/Device
 org.freesmartphone.GSM.SIM.RetrieveMessagebook 'all'

To delete messages one by one:
 mdbus2 -s org.freesmartphone.ogsmd /org/freesmartphone/GSM/Device
 org.freesmartphone.GSM.SIM.DeleteMessage '1'

Is there a way to get read messages from the SIM and store it in the pimd
messages db? I received 2 messages during the upgrade of opimd and they got
marked as read and therefore are not being fetched from the SIM.

i use the freerunner permanently plugged to my server for sending sms.
 it worked 10 days normally.
then first the X server died, so i couldn't see anything on the device but
 connecting through ssh was possible.
3 days later the whole system died so i couldn't even log into trough ssh.

 has anyone made similar experiences.
is there something i can do against this behaviour?

I've suffered some times similar problem and usualy the cause is a full
filesystem on /var/volatile (all logs end there)

RE: My audio settings

2010-03-19 Thread Niels Heyvaert

 Hi Neil,

Sorry to hijack the thread, but could you post your tweaked soundconfig on
 the Wiki?

 http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Neo_Freerunner_audio_subsystem#Empirical_Data_for_Mic_Settings

This could help others to find more useable settings for their phone.

 Thanks,

 Niels.

 Hi Niels,

If you mean me, yes, I'm planning to do this this evening. (Sorry for
 the delay!)

 They're there now.

Hi Neil,

Great! Already noticed your update last night. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Brian, I read you're also using tweaked sound settings on your FR. Could you
also share your version, please?

http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Neo_Freerunner_audio_subsystem#Empirical_Data_for_Mic_Settings

Thanks.

ok.
what can i do against the growing log-files?
is there a possibility of auto-shrink those files.
the biggest file there is fsodeviced.log

right now, after 1 day uptime it's 12% full and 51MB are free to use.

thanx,
johannes.

I'm not sure (I have not tested it ) but changing log_to = from file to
syslog on the appropriated frameworkd configuration files
(/etc/framework.conf, /etc/freesmartphone/conf/GTA02/fsodeviced.conf, ...)
shall keep the lasts messages on a circular buffer another alternative is to
install logrotate and configure it to keep logs small. Reducing the log level
can also palliate the problem

Hope this helps

[QTMOKO] Dead UI

2010-03-19 Thread Risto H. Kurppa
Hi there!

qtmoko v19, debug -kernel, qi, freerunner

Most of the things were fine until noon today, when something
happened. No, I didn't install anything, didn't upgrade, update,
change any config, nothing. Something just happened.

qtmoko starts normally
When I touch the touch screen, the screen light comes on, but no menu
or icon reacts.
AUX POWER work as expected.

hexdump -C /dev/input/event1 showed that touch is recognized, so it
shouldn't be hardware. Being able to run Debian normally confirms
this.

Have been rebooting wishing this'd disappear, but no.
Ran apt-get dist-upgrade and dpkg-reconfigure -a with no success.

Someone suggested that I should recalibrate the screen - how do I
start the calibration software from command line?
Someone suggested I should try xev. How do I start X from command line?

Someone, please help... :/

Well X won't help since you're not running an X server. I am running
the same setup as you are and it's working okay but so far I can't
figure out how to fire up the recalibrate app. I'll post if I do though.
