Since the, apparently international, application is in French, most likely it will be searched at the European Patent Office. Some useful links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patent_application http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_participation_in_patent_examination In any case, someone posted in another mail that Quickwriting already has a patent pending. Then answer is simple, - cat /proc/cmdline for both qi and > u-boot and check difference. > And you can't do cat /proc/cmdline as you can't boot, ok. So, check your u-boot environment for right cmdline. Example of environment (mine): http://www.bsdmn.com/openmoko/gpsfix/env/ it can be flashed with dfu-util -a u-boot_env -D u-boot_env.in4, or recompiled by ./envedit.pl -c 262144 -f environment.in > u-boot_env.in you have to change it to match your qi command line and it should work. I made another attempt to look for this patent at http://www.epo.org/ and http://www.wipo.int/pctdb/en/index.jsp but failed here also. Any ideas where to find this patent? There is one more strangeness, looking at their schematic drawings, it looks like this patent application is not finished yet. Maybe they have not applied it yet? Another fact is that they are decided to distribute their software for free: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Android-Input-App-8pen-Is-Now-Free-for-Download-166085.shtml http://www.coveringweb.info/2010/11/android-input-app-8pen-is-now-free-for.html -- Patryk "LeadMan" Benderz Linux Registered User #377521 () ascii ribbon campaign - against html e-mail /\ www.asciiribbon.org - against proprietary attachments ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
